Five areas of Richmond will experience power outages this week as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work.
BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.
“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.
Here are the power outages scheduled for this week:
May 4 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect fewer than five customers at:
- 16062 Portside Rd.
May 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 12 customers at:
- 6620, 6640, 6651, 6660, 6680, 6691, 6700, 6711, 6720, 6760, 6800 and 6840 Coltsfoot Dr.
May 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 10 customers at:
- 7380 to 7491 Langton Rd.
May 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect five customers at:
- 6751 and Units 101 to 103, 6791 Elmbridge Way.
May 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pole replacement work will affect 23 customers at:
- 3628 to 3980 Georgia St.
- 11451, 11500, 11551 2nd Ave.
